I was born in Vancouver and educated first as a nurse who worked for many years in health care in various capacities and in various cities. After an epiphany of sorts, I decided to leave nursing and go to the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. My education was continued at Simon Fraser University where I received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.
My continuing studies and observations about life, my volunteer work and living on the west coast of Canada inform my artwork.
